"Management in the Havel River Basin"

funded by

One of the ongoing research programs dealing with river basin management is the European Water Framework Directive, which aims at a general improvement of water quality in European river basins. The research project ‘Management in the Havel River Basin‘ funded by the German government aims at the implementation of this Directive in the Havel river basin, one of the largest river basins of the river Elbe. It will develop a methodology for the modelling of regional water resource issues to solve some of the most severe water-related challenges of the 21th century in that basin.

The project represents a study funded by the German BMBF within the research focus 'River Basin Management'.
